Can you tell whether ChatGPT wrote a passage?

What the model sees
The checker reads the submitted words and compares statistical patterns learned during training. It cannot identify the exact model, prompt, or person behind the passage.
Why edited text is harder
A human can revise generated text, and a writing assistant can lightly polish human work. Translation, paraphrasing, and short excerpts make a binary label less dependable.
A fair follow-up
Use the score as a reason to examine drafts, citations, and the author's explanation. Do not turn an automated result into an accusation on its own.
