Checking Stable Diffusion and SDXL images
Stable Diffusion images may carry prompt details, no details, or a signed creation record. The result depends on the particular file and any later edits.
Metadata varies by export
Some apps save prompts or settings inside PNG files. Others omit them, and conversion to JPEG or WebP may discard them. Unsigned fields alone cannot authenticate a creator.
Visual models have blind spots
Different checkpoints, ControlNet workflows, upscalers, and image-to-image edits may produce different signals. A model trained on one family will not catch every future workflow.
Use an original whenever possible
Upload a full-resolution original for the best chance of retaining clues. If you only have a social-media screenshot, treat a confident label with extra caution.
