How to make an AI draft sound more like you
Start with your message, not a detector score. Use these steps to make a draft clearer, more specific, and faithful to what you mean.
1. Mark claims that need your knowledge
Read each paragraph and underline claims, numbers, dates, and citations. Check them against your sources. A fluent sentence can still be wrong, and a rewrite can quietly change a fact.
Keep the details that matter to your reader. If you cannot verify a claim, remove it or say what remains uncertain.
2. Replace generic wording with a real example
A draft might say that a project had a significant impact. Explain what actually changed: who used it, when, and what you observed. Add only examples you can support; do not invent personal experience to make text sound human.
3. Edit for clarity and voice
Shorten a sentence when it carries several ideas. Choose words you would normally use with this audience. Vary sentence structure where it helps the flow, then read the paragraph aloud to catch awkward phrasing.
Our private writing editor offers grammar and clarity suggestions in your browser. You choose each change, and the draft is not sent to our detector.
4. Review the final draft yourself
Compare the revision with the original. Recheck names, quotations, citations, numbers, and the intended tone. AI-assisted editing may need to be disclosed under your school, workplace, or publisher rules.
No editor can guarantee that a detector will label a passage Human. AI writing detectors are estimates and can flag human writing, particularly when it is formulaic or written by a non-native English author.
