Was a real photo altered with AI?

A photo can begin in a camera and later be changed with generative tools. SUREvAI looks for available clues, but small localized edits remain a difficult case.

The whole file may look mostly real

A background replacement or object removal can affect only part of the image. A whole-image detector can score the unchanged camera region more strongly than the edited region.

Edits are not all the same

Color correction, cropping, denoising, and AI generation are different operations. File metadata may mention software, but software names alone cannot prove which edits happened.

Compare versions

When possible, compare the original camera file, edit history, and the image being shared. If those are missing, report uncertainty rather than asserting that no edit occurred.
